Privacy Policy
Please note: this page is general information written in plain language. It is a template, not legal advice, and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before Stillseed launches. Highlighted items like [Effective date] still need to be filled in.
Stillseed is offered by Kaitlyn Snodgrass, an individual (sole proprietor) doing business as Stillseed ("we," "us"). We want this to feel as calm as the practice itself, so here is plainly what happens with your information today, and what will change when payments and analytics are added.
1. What Stillseed collects today
Right now Stillseed has no accounts, no sign-up, and no real payments. We don't ask for your name, email, or health information.
- Preferences in your browser (localStorage): small settings saved only on your device, such as whether you've seen the "follow the ball" hint, whether chakra markers are shown or hidden, your last-played track (for the "pick up where you left off" shortcut), and your reminder settings.
- Demo access: when you choose a preview plan, a note that "access" is unlocked is stored in your browser. No payment details are collected.
- Basic server logs: like most websites, the server and our hosting or network provider ([Hosting / CDN provider]) may briefly record technical details such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
We use this only to run the site and remember your preferences. We don't sell your information.
Daily reminders (optional)
If you choose to turn on a daily reminder, we store only your browser's push subscription (a notification address and its encryption keys, issued by your browser's push service such as Google, Mozilla or Apple), the reminder time you picked, and your time zone, plus the date the last reminder was sent so we don't send two in one day. We use these only to send your reminder. They aren't linked to your name or email, and notifications are delivered through your browser's push service. When you turn reminders off, or if the push service tells us the subscription has expired, we delete them. Reminders are never turned on automatically, and your browser asks for permission only after you tap "Turn on." The "Add to my calendar" option downloads a file to your device and sends us nothing.
2. Cookies and local storage
Stillseed doesn't currently set tracking or advertising cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage for the preferences above. You can clear it anytime through your browser settings, or with "Reset demo access" in the paywall; doing so simply resets your preferences. Our font provider (Google Fonts) may receive your IP address when fonts load.
3. Third parties
Today: [Hosting / CDN provider] and Google Fonts. We share information only as needed to provide the site, to comply with the law, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
Payments (Lemon Squeezy, planned)
When paid access launches, purchases will be handled by Lemon Squeezy (planned, not yet integrated), acting as Merchant of Record. The processor collects your name, email, billing details, and payment card information to complete the purchase, under its own privacy policy. We receive limited details (such as your email, plan, and purchase status) to give you access and help with support. We won't receive or store your full card number.
If accounts are added, we'll also store your email and access status, used to sign you in, deliver what you bought, and send receipts and important service messages.
Analytics
We may add [Analytics provider] to understand which tracks are played and how the site is used, so we can improve it. Where possible we'll choose privacy-friendly settings (for example, no cross-site tracking and no sale or sharing for targeted advertising). If analytics use cookies, we'll update this section and ask for consent where required.
4. How long we keep information
Browser preferences stay on your device until you clear them. Server logs are kept for [Log retention period, e.g. 30 days]. Once payments launch, purchase records will be kept for as long as needed to provide access and to meet tax and accounting obligations, [Purchase record retention period].
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing." To make a request, email kaitlynsnodgrass25@gmail.com. We won't discriminate against you for using these rights.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have the rights above, plus the right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Washington (My Health My Data Act): this law covers "consumer health data," which can be interpreted broadly and may be relevant to wellness apps. Stillseed doesn't currently collect health data. If that ever changes (for example, mood or wellness tracking), we'll publish a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy and ask for your consent first. Note for review: a lawyer should confirm whether and how this Act applies to Stillseed.
6. Children
Stillseed is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Teens aged 13–17 may use Stillseed only with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, such as encrypted (HTTPS) connections and trusted payment processors. No method is perfectly secure, so we can't promise absolute security.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Stillseed grows. We'll change the "Last updated" date and, for meaningful changes, give notice on the site or by email if you have an account.
